Eleven Huesday is one of my favorite K-Beauty brands, and although they are still a young brand, their products have fantastic properties and contain ingredients of the highest quality.
I've met Sunny, the brand owner, at the Cosmobeauty in 2017, and I was immediately hooked by the minimalistic design of the products and impressive ingredients. After taking a bunch of products with me to New Zealand and testing them over the extended time, I found myself in love with the Deeply Control Balancing Toner and the Antioxidant Aging Barrier.
To be honest, I normally never use the same product twice after the first bottle finishes - there're too many new products I need to test. However, the two products mentioned above became the absolute exceptions - I'm now on my 2d bottle of the toner and the 3d or 4th bottle of the serum. True story.
Imagine how happy I was to discover new products in the line when we met Eleven Huesday at the Cosmobeauty this year! I immediately grabbed a few bottles to try, and finally, after several months of usage, I can't wait to tell you why they became my must-haves.
The first product is PHA Refining V. Ceramide - non-oily smoothing sebum control cream. This cream comes in a stylish white bottle, and it's available in two volumes: 50 ml and 120 ml. Both bottles have a super-handy pump, that allows dispensing a small amount of the cream without contaminating the rest of the product.
Eleven Huesday says that this cream contains PHA 2% and helps oily skin to be moisturized without the greasy feeling. It balances oil and water, controls sebum and provides keratin care. This product is recommended for normal, combined, oily, dull, uneven and troubled skin.
Let's look at the full list of ingredients in detail.

Look at the massive list of natural plant extracts! Also, there're two ingredients I find particularly interesting.
Gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid (PHA), offers all the benefits of AHAs but it is gentle to the skin and is suitable for sensitive skin. This ingredient is an acid, but slightly gentler on the skin than other acids such as lactic or glycolic acids.
Some evidence exists to suggest that gluconolactone is a mild anti-bacterial ingredient and it's useful in products designed for treating acne.
Although more research is being done on gluconolactone’s effects on photoaging, in one study, signs of photoaging were significantly reduced after six and twelve weeks of twice daily use, including firmness, sallowness, fine lines, wrinkles, roughness, hyperpigmentation, and pore size.
According to the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, it may also show improvements in patients with rosacea, and is gentle on sensitive skin.
Nicotinamide, also known as niacinamide or nicotinic acid amide, is the water-soluble, active form of vitamin B3. Nicotinamide used as a medicine may benefit the skin in several different ways.
Nicotinamide, available in topical cream, gel, and oral forms, has been shown to be effective in clearing acne. In a controlled clinical trial, 4% nicotinamide gel was found to be as effective as the topical antibiotic 1% clindamycin gel in the treatment of acne vulgaris in 76 patients with moderate acne. The study concluded that the anti-inflammatory properties of nicotinamide may have contributed towards its success in acne.
Nicotinamide also reduces facial sebum production. Sebum is responsible for facial shine and contributes to noninflamed comedones and inflammatory acne lesions. Results of a well-controlled clinical trial in Caucasian and Japanese women have shown that application of 2% nicotinamide moisturizer to the face for 4-6 weeks reduces sebum production with significant differences in facial shine and oiliness. The clinical signs and symptoms of rosacea include increased facial skin dryness, redness, and sensitivity. In at least two studies, moisturizers containing nicotinamide have been shown to improve skin barrier function in rosacea patients, leading to diminished reaction to irritants including cleansers and cosmetics.
In multiple clinical studies, topical nicotinamide improved fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness, and skin sallowness (yellowing) as well as elasticity. One study showed nicotinamide to increase the skin production of ceramides, which are natural emollients and skin protectants, thus improving skin hydration. Another study of 30 healthy Japanese females reported improvement of eyelid wrinkles after 8 weeks of application of a cosmetic containing 4% nicotinamide. Nicotinamide is well tolerated and often can be used by those who cannot tolerate topical retinoids or fruit acids.
Now to the actual product.
Eleven Huesday PHA Refining V. Ceramide has a thick/semi-thick consistency which made me worried in the beginning. My pores usually get clogged easily and I prefer light/gelly textures. However, this was no issue with the cream.
The product has no scent. At all! I personally like perfumed skincare, but most people hate strong scents which can also irritate sensitive skin.
I use PHA Refining V. Ceramide on a clean face after washing and before going to bed. I wasn't sure if active ingredients would work equally well when applied over a toner, so I use in on bare skin. This cream applied to skin leaves a wee bit of white layer but it disappears quickly.
The product provides enough moisturizing and my skin never felt dry during the night.
Eleven Huesday promises "Visible Difference Overnight" and this is an absolute truth! When I wake up in the morning, my skin and pores are very clean. The face doesn't feel tight, but there's no sebum excess either! To be honest, I don't even want to wash my face in the morning - the skin feels and looks just perfect!
I've been using Eleven Huesday PHA Refining V. Ceramide for several weeks now. I'm expecting the biggest results to be visible after a couple of months. However, at this stage I have noticed the following:
- Decrease in excess sebum production;
- Decreased acne;
- Smaller pores;
- More even skin tone;
- Less clogged pores.
I can't comment on wrinkles prevention and decrease as I haven't seen any big difference yet, but I'm highly impressed by improved texture, sebum control and overall condition of my skin. This was especially noticeable around that time of the month. My skin usually gets really bad before period. It produces a lot of sebum and feels dirty all the time. With PHA Refining V. Ceramide these problems were eliminated completely!
Eleven Huesday PHA Refining V. Ceramide is now my must-have product. I love the benefits described above, and so far I haven't found any negative sides of the product.
For the reference, my skin is normal/oily with large pores, occasional hormonal acne, and post-acne spots.
I will continue using Eleven Huesday PHA Refining V. Ceramide for a couple of months (or forever), and I will add to my review later.
